June 29, 2007 – The Alaskan Highway – Day 3

We left early this morning since our site was reserved for today and we did not know when the people would be coming. This weekend is a big holiday for Canada. July 1 is Canada Day, similar to our July 4, Independence Day. So since 7/1 is on a Sunday, it is a long weekend for many of the folk.

We traveled thru more of the Rockies. Every turn is still more incredible scenery!!

We have stopped at the Liard River Hot Springs Provincial Park and will be here until July 2, 2007. Our site is great and we figured we would stay put until the holiday is over.

This park has two hot spring pools. So since we were here early and set up by 10, Andy and I headed to the pools. The first pool (called Alpha) is the shallower and more crowded pool.

The second pool (called Beta) is deeper and less crowded so that is where we stayed. Imagine this: A huge hot tube with beautiful scenery all around, about 8 steps into the water and about 10 feet deep. Ahhhhh – so relaxing.

This afternoon we were joined by Les and Colleen and had a great time chatting. And another beautiful campfire to end the day!!
