October 27, 2021 And Away We Go.

WOW!  Hard to believe that it has been over 5 years since I did some long term traveling. So much happened in these last five years and someday I may blog about it – Smile.  Or at least share some tidbits of memories.

I am a little rusty with blogging and taking pictures so bear with me.  Phone cameras have spoiled me but they do not always get the best shot.  So I am relearning my camera again.

Today’s travels took us across Pennsylvania.  Some shots from the road.

The changing leaves are late this year. Maybe they will catch up to us..

Our cats, Dusty and Bella, are still traveling with us and we have added a new traveler. Meet Gray:

He was a cat that lived in our neighborhood for years and claimed us.  A big boy and a good cat.  He has only taken three short trips with us so it will be interesting to see what happens over the next few months.

We arrived at our campground, Hickory Hollow in Rockwood, PA mid-afternoon.  We will be here for a couple of days for sightseeing and to wait out another rain storm.

So what are our plans.  Well although not set in stone, we hope to slowly head to Arizona/So. California then across to Florida and back home in the spring.  So stay tuned.

December 1, 2008 – On the Road Again

We are off on another great adventure and very thankful that we are so blessed to be able to do this.

We left home this morning around nine with the sun shining. Some rain, some sunshine and some snow flurries followed us.

We traveled by one of our favorite places – Shenandoah National Park – and felt the tug to go up the mountain. If you follow the blog, we usually start our journeys with a visit to that park. But, alas, too cold this time of year. So I have some pictures of the mountains along the way:

It didn’t take long for Elliot to get use to the ride. Here he is stretched out on the floor as we are traveling:

We did see two accidents involving tractor trailers. The interstate was shut down for a while so they could move one of the trucks. We hope that no one was hurt.

Our day ended at a Wal-Mart in Roanoke, VA.

Until tomorrow.

April 27, 2007 - The Beginning

This is the eve of the start of living our dream of seeing this great country in our motorhome. The packing is done and the house almost shut down. So tomorrow, we leave for Shenandoah National Park. For how long, I don’t know – it feels so great to say that instead of being on a time schedule.

It is so hard for me to believe that this moment is here. Andy and I have dreamed of doing this and I never thought it would be a reality. But somehow it is happening!!!

This blog was started to keep our friends and family informed our travels. So I hope to tell you about the places we are and the places we have seen. And our experiences along the way. And it will also be a travel journal for us…

I will try to update as much as possible but I will be relying on free Wi-Fi so it may not be daily. I am hoping to keep a word document and then upload when I can get access.

Until then….
