March 13, 2023 Return to Kingman Part 2

Once we looked over Dusty’s remains and keepsakes and spent some time calming down, we knew we had to do something.  So we decided to take a walk since we were close to the Historic Downtown Kingman.

Right next to the Inn is Locomotive Park:

And right next to Locomotive Park was Mr. D’z Route 66 Diner.  We decided to stop in and get lunch and it was delicious.  The kitchen was backed up so it took a while.  Our waitress, Becky, was wonderful and kept apologizing.  Felt sorry for her.  But the lunch was worth the wait.

Heading back to the Inn, we passed the Veteran’s Memorial:

One of the best things we have seen in our travels across America is that 99% of smaller towns have Veterans Memorials.  Most are beautiful and this was no exception.

We decided to stop at the Moose for Happy Hour and then back to the Inn where I just crashed…  Long and emotional day.

October 24, 2013 Over the Hump to Pahrump

After lots of hugs and see you later, we left our friends and headed north to Pahrump - or as they say “Over the Hump to Pahrump”.

It was a perfect day for pictures:

I love this shot - no photo touchups either.  As an amateur photographer, there are some photos that stand out to me and this will be one of them.

Over the hump and heading to the valley:

We made our way to the Escapee Co-op Park in Pahrump where we will be for the next week.  I really like this park - people are great and the spaces are huge.  We put our name on the list for a lot here a few years ago and in April we made it to the top of that list.  But, their policy is that if you are not here and put it in the rental pool, there is no return for you.  So for us, unless we spend months here, that would not work out at this time.  We had them put our name on the bottom of the list until we figure out what we are going to do.  At the Co-op in Casa Grande, we receive credit on our M&O when we put our lot in the rental pool because it does bring money into the park.

One of the nice things here (that my Andy LOVES) is an area to work on your rig.  So once we checked in, we headed over to the “Pit” where Andy changed the oil and filter, and greased the MH.  They also have an area where we were able to wash the MH too.

Back in our space, we set up and relaxed - even Dusty had a great time being outside.

October 23, 2013 Travel to Las Vegas, Meeting with Friends

Another early day on the road and the scenery is spectacular.

The road continues through the National Forests:

The high desert:

Through a few mountain passes:

And into Kingman where we stopped for gas and headed north on US-93:

Heading toward Hoover Dam and the Colorado River Valley where the scenery drastically changes:

Across the dam (the lake is still pretty low):

Into Nevada:

Past Lake Mead (Some day we are going to camp in this area.)

And into Vegas:

Where we meet up with our friends, Sue, Bruce, Geri, and John.  We are all staying at Arizona Charlie's RV Park on the Boulder Highway.

The rest of the day we spent getting caught with each other - last time we saw them was in March at Bead Week in Congress, AZ.  What a wonderful time  - .    We are so blessed!

Tomorrow we are heading to Pahrump and will meet up again either in Pahrump or Death Valley NP.
