September 14. 2022 Travel from Cheyenne to Fort Bridger, Wyoming

(Note:  Many of the travel pictures that I take are done at 70 mph out the front windshield or the side window.  Some/many may not have clarity, however, I post them for me and you to record what that part of the country looks like and for my memory. Just an FYI.)

I will preface this blog by saying WOW!  Today’s scenery was spectacular!  So this blog is picture intensive – Enjoy!

We left the Moose Lodge and headed west. Past wind turbines and oil rigs.

No more flat lands:

On the top of one of those “hills”:

So this tree could actually be well over 1000 years old.  Imagine the tales it could tell:

We came up over the hill and there was a statue of Lincoln!:

We saw so many of homes like this:

Today was one of the days that we feel so blessed to be able to see this beautiful country!

We arrived at Fort Bridger RV Park.  Fort Bridger is next door and our destination for tomorrow.  So stay tuned and enjoy today.

September 13, 2022 Travel to Cheyenne Wyoming and Good Friend

We left our little place in North Platte and headed west.  We decided to take US-30, Lincoln Highway, to the Wyoming Border.  US-30 parallels and sometimes joins I-80.  The road is pretty good and it was nice to be off the interstate.

This was right around the border of Nebraska/Wyoming on I-80.  We did not stop but someday we will be back to see this interesting statue.

Cheyenne:

We landed at the Cheyenne Moose Lodge and spent the evening with our friend Jan, who now lives there.  We met Jan and Ken in Alaska and spent time with them every year in Arizona City and Quartzsite, AZ.  Sadly, we have lost Ken and we miss him It was so so good to see Jan and get caught up.  I did not take pictures (sorry Jan) and will definitely stay longer next time thru.

Andy and I are so blessed with the good folks that we met on our travels.

Tomorrow we head further west so stay tuned and enjoy today.
