August 5, 2008 – Just a Peak of Sun and Moving Day

We woke to fog and clouds so decided to move further north. We are staying at Apple Hill Campground in Bethlehem, NH. It is a Passport America Campground with full hookups so it is nice to have electric again. This area will be close to both Cannon Mountain and Mount Washington – so if it clears up we have a chance at both.

The clouds in the mountains are just so dramatic. A picture on the way:

Near the campground there was a free stand and I was able to pick up a free moose statue – to add to my collection!!

Once we set up, we did check out the area so now we have a list of things to do in case the rain continues. And we did get some peaks of sun between the rains – enough to have a small campfire!!

August 3-4, 2008 – The Rain Continues

Yes, we have had two more rainy days but were finally blessed with the sun late this afternoon and were able to sit outside and enjoy a campfire.

Because of the amount of rain we had, we took some pictures of the nearby river:

The sound was incredible and then we were blessed with a rainbow:

Notice the clouds in the pictures. They are so dramatic over the mountains whether they are storm clouds or just the white puffy clouds.

Tomorrow promises to be sunny and we are hoping to ride the gondola to the top of Cannon Mountain so until then…..

July 31, 2008 – Rainy, Rainy Day

Since it rained most of the day, we decided to check out the area to see what was available, and spent some time in the visitor center. So now we have a list of things to do!!!

The storms continued into the night so we had supper at the Woodstock Inn Brewery and tried some of the local brews – the wheat and raspberry wheat were great.

Coming back from the Brewery, we saw the moose viewing bus leave so we decided to follow. We saw some incredible scenery (which we will visit later) but no moose (oh, well).

We have decided to call this trip the Woodstock trip – can you believe we are a mile from Woodstock, NH!! (And we may also call it the Rainy Woodstock trip!)

July 30, 2008 – Travel to New Hampshire

Today our travels took us to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Some scenes along the way:

Yes, this is moose country – can’t wait to see one.

One stop we did do on our way was to the NH Coach and Camper in Rumney, NH for new coach batteries. We have noticed that the batteries are not holding a charge like they should so we decided to replace them. We were also able to pick up some other items for the motorhome at some great prices (discounts plus no sales tax in NH).

We are staying at the Hancock Campground which is in the White Mountain National Forest – another great campground.

We have decided to stay here for four nights but there is so much to do here so it may be longer - :-)

And we continue to enjoy the campfires!
