The tour started with a ride on a replica of the Tanana Valley Railroad.
The ride took us through different areas that showed the different ways of mining gold during the gold rush up to present day – for small operations. Then we got a demonstration of placer/sluice mining from the owners of the property.
And at the end of the tour, we were able to pan for gold. Andy and I both found some in our panning – enough to pay for the trip (only kidding). 
Overall it was a fun tour.... now we will have to do more panning - :-)
