May 11 and 12, 2007 - The Mississippi and Downtime

We decided to take a break for two days and just get some items in and around the MH done and chill. The weather is beautiful - breezy 70's during the day and in the 50's overnight. These two days have brought beautiful blue skies with white puffy clouds and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. We will be leaving the river and heading west thru Iowa towards Nebraska on Monday. I will miss this place.

We did meet the campground hosts, Judy and Larry DeVilder, who have been wonderful. They are fulltimers and will be selling in Quartsite over the winter. So we hopefully we will get to meet up again.

I am currently in the local library and have been able to update the blog from 5/7-12/07. Thank you for all your emails and comments. I may not be able to answer all of them today but hopefully on the road, I will be able to get back to you. Until next time, I will leave you with more pictures of the last few days.

Wow, that looks like an Albino Candian Goose!

I've been birding for twenty years, and never saw one of those.
