April 17, 2013 - A WINDY Travel Day to Truth or Consequences

We decided to head out early this morning and try to beat the winds.  So after a gas stop, we traveled west on US-70…

The winds were starting to get really bad on I-25 and my Andy did a great job of keeping us safe.  We arrived at Elephant Butte Lake State Park and are staying at the Lions Beach Campground (Thanks Bill and Shelly for the recommendation.)

Here is our site:

Once we got set up, we drove around part of the state park:

And then headed into Truth or Consequences to check out the town – what a cute little place.

The wind continued to pick up so we headed back home and relaxed the rest of the evening.  We are hoping to do some exploring while we are here so stay tuned (and hopefully the wind will calm down).

Enjoy today.
