We hung around the house a little longer this morning, then met Bill and Marcia at the Shuttle and off we went to the Lodge where we started on the Emerald Pools Trail.
Over the Virgin River:
And up this beautiful tree lined trail:
Flowers along the way:
And more great views of the river:
This is the lower pool area:
The trail took us behind two waterfalls:
The Lower Emerald Pool – not too emerald and not sure why:
From there we decided to go up to the Middle Pool – the trail:
The Middle Pool:
It was so green here and so much moisture – check out all the greenery on the mountain:
We decided not to go to the upper pool but instead take the Kayenta Trail back to the Grotto – here is part of the trail:
More beautiful flowers:
Coming down the trail we had so many great views of the Virgin River as it meandered thru the Canyon floor:
The bridge to the Grotto Area:
Waiting for the return shuttle – Marcia, Bill, and Andy:
Late afternoon, we took the shuttle back to the Lodge and had supper in the Red Rock Grill Lounge – very good.
The shuttles run continuously from 7 AM to 9:30 PM. So we decided to take it up the canyon to watch all the beautiful colors as the sun set.
Here we are in the shuttle:
These colors are AWESOME!
Another great day in Zion National Park. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s adventure and enjoy today!
