December 17, 2008 – Livingston, Texas and Escapees

Andy and I belong to the Escapees which is an RV club. Their headquarters is located in Livingston, Texas and that is where our travels took us today.

We checked in around 11AM with hugs. Once we set up and had lunch we took a walk around. Not only is there a campground here but there are permanent lots as well as a care center.

And there are lots of activities: we signed up for Christmas Dinner and a Dinner Out to a local restaurant on Thursday night. There is also a welcome tour tomorrow, a tour of the Care Center on Friday, and Christmas Parade on Friday (plus an Amateur Radio group meets next week). Every day there is a social hour and we were there today. Andy and I had to get up and talk since this is our first time here and the first time at an Escapees park. We met quite a few people and had a great time. What a wonderful place.

The weather has been WONDERFUL. Today was in the 60’s. You can tell the northerners from the southerns by looking at the site. We were sitting out with all the windows open in the MH – what a relief after all the cold we have been thru. So hopefully it will stay this way.

Stay tuned - :-)
