We continued our travels today thru more of British Columbia and crossed the Rockies.
Some sites:
Yes, that is snow! Most of the rivers and lakes are still frozen and they are beautiful.
And we are in MOOSE country – Yippee!!!! Can’t wait to see one!
When we were here in 2007, one of our favorites places to stay was at Azouzetta Lake near the top of one of the passes. Some of you may remember some of the incredible pictures we took. It was there that I saw mountains turn purple when the sun set!
Well, the bad news is that we had hoped to stay there again but it was snowed in – really snowed in!!! Ah well, maybe on our way back down.
Us goofing off in the snow!
We are camped at an overlook of the Pine River – isn’t this incredible!
We are going at a faster pace than we usually do because many of the places are not open yet. Plus we are watching the weather so we get thru the passes on nice days. Tomorrow we will be in Dawson Creek for a few days – getting ready to go up the Alaskan Highway and checking on the weather for the next 10 days – so stay tuned.
And the days are getting longer. The sun rises by 6 AM and set around 8:30 – coming close to the longest day of daylight……
