Well, we finally left Arizona – sad to say goodbye but we will be back. Our travels took us to Everwood, Texas where we stayed at a Wal-Mart. We did a stop at Camping World and picked up a chair that Andy had admired. We decided not to do extensive renovations to the motor home and see how this chair works out. So far so good and we can fold it up for traveling. (Hey, we may change our minds again – LOL.)
Some pictures from the road:
Some of the old signs from Route 66 are still there:
In the above picture, the road in front of the sign is part of Route 66. A good portion of Route 66 is now I-40 in this part of the SE but there are still little pockets of the “Mother Road”

See the black piles of rock in this picture – that is Lava. There is some interesting formations here – :-)):

We woke to rain this morning – :-(. And we left our little spot and traveled east. We are still on I-40 and have left Colorado Plateau (above 6000’) and are now on the High Plains (~2600’).
There was not a lot that we could see because of the rain and fog:
And it started to lift:
The flatlands of the Panhandle of Texas:
We are currently staying at the AOK campground in Amarillo for a few days to see the sites and recover from traveling the past two days. We are not use to it LOL!
