When we first decided to come here, there were a few hikes we wanted to do, especially to see the glaciers. But since we could not access the trails due to the snow, we had to change plans. So, we did the Trail of the Cedars, Avalanche Gorge, and Avalanche Lake trail. (It is a combination of a few trails depending on how far you want to travel.) Overall, it was 4.5 miles.
Imagine this, walking (mostly uphill) through tall cedars, along a swift moving river (and in some areas, rushing water and waterfalls) and then coming upon this lake:
Yes, that is snow.
And even more:
Avalanche Gorge:
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.
It is our last night here and we finished it with another campfire. Tomorrow, we head towards Washington.
