We left Lake Havasu City and headed north and east. I always loved this area north of Lake Havasu because of the rock formations.
We turned on to I-40 east and the road turned crappy... This part of I-40 followed the original Route 66. There are still some roadside attractions that were maintained.

Coming into Kingman:
On US-93 heading north and the road was even worse. Right over the crest of this hill, a truck with a few guys pulled up alongside us and pointed to the back of the motorhome. We pulled aside and saw Andy's electrical bike dragging. Apparently with all the potholes and cracked roadway and bouncing, the straps came loose and the bike went over. Yes, it is toast!! Sad! (Yes, another one is on order.)
And started to notice Joshua Trees:
Yes, they meant business. We did see two cows that were dead along side the road.
Our final turn was Diamond Bar Road heading to the Grand Canyon. What a nice surprise - a Joshua Tree Forest - there were thousands of them.
We are now on the plateau - at about 4800' and very close to our destination:

My friend lives in Kingman and warned me about I-10 from LHC. She directed me north around I-10 towards Flagstaff that was a nice road on my way to ABQ last September.
That road is just so so bad.. Wish they would do something about it!
