We have spent the last week or so not playing tourist. (You read that right – not playing tourist.) Actually it has been very nice to sit by the lake and hang out.
We did however do some exploring of the area. Dallas/Fort Worth is a huge city but it also encompasses all the little towns surrounding it. Some of the towns look older and may have been surrounded by farms but now there is so much development. One day we went thru an area with a lot of construction, new development, shopping, etc., then for about a mile was a ranch – horses, fields, goats, ranch house – and then the development started up again. WOW!
The town where we shop (about a mile from the campground) is called Corinth and I found out today that it was established in 1960. For us easterners where our towns were established in the 1700’s and 1800’s, it is another WOW!
We did get together with Ann and Norlynn a few times for dinner and had them here for a campfire. Ann and I got together for some much needed girl time.
We did get a mail drop (thank you Rachel and Ann) and even ordered from Amazon with an Amazon locker drop – Cool.
And of course the usual laundry, cleaning, shopping, etc..
The weather has been beautiful! The last few days have been in the 70’s and will be approaching 80 for Christmas. Yes, that is unusual here too.
We have been talking to an RV dealer here which is why we are staying this long. Stayed tuned for that story –
The town we are near is called Lake Dallas. We have found the local Legion and met a few folks. Even one of the workers at the laundromat knows us – LOL!.
We have enjoyed the beautiful sunsets over the lake. (The pictures are from three different days.)
Yesterday, the 22nd, we moved to another lot for the next week. It is another beautiful space. But no lake view…
And of course, I have to include some shots of the kitties. This is Gray who has become my shadow. He sleeps very soundly.
Bella and him have made peace and are playing together.
My fat cat:
I have not been able to figure out why he keeps gaining weight. He gets the same as my Dusty and Dusty is a smaller cat but holds his weight pretty good. We almost lost our Bella in the spring (someday I will write that story) and since then she has been on special food, plus I supplement with Friskies just to keep her weight on. She gets fed in a different place and last week, we caught Gray eating her food. Now that explains it since her food has a much higher caloric value. Oh boy! It is about to get interesting. (Dusty is not in the pictures – next time.)
To all my friends, family, and followers (for those I do not know, hopefully some day we will meet), Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas Eve and Christmas. And virtual hugs to you all.
