On Sunday, 12th, we decided to do some sightseeing and since it is near Christmas, we just had to go to Grapevine, Texas, The Christmas Capital of Texas.
The main street in the historic area was all decorated for Christmas. There were lots of little shops, restaurants, wineries and Christmas music playing everywhere.
BIG DECORATIONS!: (What’s the saying “It is always bigger in Texas!”)
Many murals throughout the town:
Lots of history and statues.
The Torian Log Cabin:
A statue to commemorate the first settlers:
Children skating:
Beautiful buildings:
This is City Hall:
The Visitor’s Center:
The Metro Station:
At the Metro Station is the Peace Circle which we found very interesting.
Even a vintage train – fully booked until after Christmas.
How about this sign for hand washing – LOL!
The weather was beautiful and it was a nice day to just get out and walk around.
And the big planet event that evening – Jupiter, Saturn and Venus in a line right after sunset. Cool.
On Monday, 13th, we moved to another site. We are having fun moving to different sites – LOL! The Army Corp of Engineers has gone to a full reservation system so it has been interesting juggling sites. This is our third site and the great thing about it is that we are right along the lake and will be here until right before Christmas when we move to another site – LOL!
It was a beautiful day!
The kitties just love it!
We are by the airport and see planes all the time.
What a gorgeous sunset!
Tuesday was another beautiful day and evening:
But today, Wednesday, WOW! Heavy winds and we were rocking and rolling. We were going to go to Dallas today to see the JFK Memorial but we heard about the wind advisory and decided to stay put. Glad we stayed home!
Stayed tuned for our next adventure and enjoy today!
