April 18, 2016 Travel to Nebraska

In between the raindrops, we packed up and headed north – past oil wells:

And horses too:

Into Nebraska:

Route US-81 from Kansas to Nebraska is a beautiful drive, however, on a rainy day, it is dreary.  There are many little towns along the way that someday we are going to explore. (Yes, those towns and museums are on my bucket list.)  We love driving the blue routes!

Even though the day was gray, we noticed how much green there was – been a while since we have seen that:

A windmill blade on its way home:

Crossing the Platte River – much history here:

We made our way to Papillion, NE where we are camped at Walnut Creek Recreation Area.  Our site:

There is a refuge near here and Bella is just loving all the birds:

Our front yard view:

This is a city park – $16.00 for electric with water and a dump available.  We will be here for two nights and tomorrow we will be playing tourist so stay tuned and enjoy today.
