This morning we were out again to the Bear Lake area. Our first hike was to Alberta Falls (we were going to do that yesterday but the storm moved in so we planned it for today).
It was a beautiful walk thru the woods:
Over bridges and small streams:
Check it out – passing us on the trail – :
Checking us out:
And the falls – how beautiful:
Looking downstream:
Going back, we took the trail alongside the river and then the shuttle bus back to the Bear Lake Parking area where we had a snack and a rest and then headed to Nymph Lake. This trail was ALL UPHILL! What a work out at over 9000’ in elevation.
But our reward was this beautiful lake:
These gnarly roots just fascinate me:
This bird just kept following us – I think he just wanted his picture taken!
The way back was all down hill – .
We took a ride back to Moraine Park to see the elk herd again but they were way too far away. So we just kept going down Fern Lake Road:
Looks like they were going to fix something???:
We just hung out in the afternoon and enjoyed a wonderful campfire in the evening.
Tuesday, 24th, our last day here – … We hung out in the morning and walked thru town in the afternoon – a very nice relaxing day.
We have had a great time here but alas it is time to move on. Tomorrow we are heading to Longmont for a few days so stay tuned and enjoy today!
