May 1 - 2, 2023 Traveling thru Missouri and a Day of Rest

(Note: This blog is picture intensive.  Many of the pictures were taken as we were driving so they may not be super sharp. But the scenery just had to be captured. Notice the topography changes as we traveled– Amazing!)

Monday, 1st, we packed up and headed east across Missouri.

Looks like Pennsylvania:

I loved this tree.  It just stood so majestic on the farm:

A plane at one of the local airports:

Most of our trip passed many farms, farm houses, barns, ranches, cows, horses, granaries and small towns.  We have been blessed to spend the last few trips on the blue roads.  Love them so much more than the interstates.

I didn’t get my camera up to catch it all but this person put all kinds of old equipment on that ridge.  There were cars, trucks, planes, tractors, and farm equipment.  It was cute.

Notice the grass – it is a little flatter because of the wind.  Yep it was “breezy” again today.

Wavy roads:

We made our way to Indian Creek Campground on Mark Twain Lake in Missouri.  Beautiful road going to the park.

After we set up, we took a little ride around the park – it is huge. The lake was low.  Some areas the boat ramps ended in rocks:

We picked up some wood and had a nice campfire.  Potatoes in the fire – YUM! And a great steak!  In a beautiful setting!  Life doesn’t get any better than that!

Today’s stats:

Miles Traveled: 187 Miles

Routes Traveled:

Missouri: I-29B; I-29; US-36; US-24; MO Route HH; MO-581

Tuesday, 2nd, we decided not to do anything.  Yep, a day of rest from the road.

So we hung out, took walks, Andy rode his bike and it was a beautiful day.
