After saying our “see you laters” and lots of hugs with Larry and Peg, we continued our journey south.
We are back to the secondary/backroads again – YEA!!! (Thanks L&P for recommending 140.) Enjoy today’s photo’s from the road:
We went thru National Forests:
Saw snow topped mountains:
Beautiful fall colors:
Snow covered mountain behind those clouds:
Klamath Lake:
Harvest time:
Into California:
Lava Flow Rocks in the distance:
We saw this guy running – we think it is a coyote:
Cool barns:
I guess the trucks prune these trees:
Thru the town of Likely:
Past herds of antelope (pronghorn):
More interesting places – I will bet these buildings could tell lots of stories:
Past what use to be Honey Lake:
We were thru this area in 2009 and there was water in the lake. We were told that the lake dried up this past June with the severe drought in California.
We decided to stay here at the Honey Lake Campground instead of the rest area. By the time we parked, it was almost 5 so we spent the evening just having some down time and watching TV.
Tomorrow we continue our travels south, so stay tuned and enjoy today.
Stats for today:
Miles Traveled: 291 Miles
Routes Traveled:
Oregon: SR-62; SR-140; SR-39
California: SR-139; SR-299; US-395
