Awesome and jaw dropping. That is how I feel some days when we travel. Most of our miles on Monday were in the high desert of northern New Mexico. These pictures do not do it justice.
We are staying at the Enchanted Trails RV Park on the west side of Albuquerque, NM – a PA Park. Not too long after we all (us, Bruce and Sue) arrived, Bill and Shelly joined us. The last time we saw them was October 2010 at the Grand Canyon.
Once we set up, we all spent the rest of the day getting caught up with each other – how blessed we are to have great friends.
The first part of Tuesday was spent cleaning, laundering, charging batteries, and grocery shopping – all in preparation for the Balloon Fiesta (getting real excited here – :-)))))
Then this evening we all got together for happy hour and a shared dinner. Dick Reed was also with us. I think the last time we saw him was in March 2011 at Wickenburg, AZ. Another wonderful day.
Here is our site – Bruce and Sue are next to us and Bill and Shelly next to them.
This campground was originally a trading post on Route 66, then a campground. They have done a great job in keeping that theme throughout the park. One of the vintage cars and trailers:
Tomorrow, 28th, we are off to the Balloon Fiesta Park so stay tuned.
Stats for the 26th:
Miles Traveled: 185 miles
Routes Traveled:
New Mexico: Robinson Avenue; SR-18 S; I-40 W; I-40 Frontage Road (Historic Route 66)
One last picture – aren’t they just the cutest:
