February 3–6, 2014 Kicking Back in Yuma

On Monday, 3rd, we made our yearly trip to Los Algodones to see Dr. Roberto at the Smile Shoppe.  Andy has been going to him for over four years now and it is always nice to see him again.  This year Andy and I both had cleanings and I had two fillings replaced.  It was the very first time I had fillings replaced with no Novocain – wow!, Dr. Roberto is good!.   I also like him because he is conservative.  I have a number of caps that will need replacing in the future but since they are not bothering me, we are just going to keep a watch.  (Smile).

We also made a stop at the Purple Store for antibiotics and a price check on my medicines (for future reference).  Then back to the USA – no long lines before noon – Yea!

Our next stop was the Visitor Center.  We expect to be in this area until the end of the month so we wanted to get some updated information on sights to see.

Since we were in town, we had lunch at the Yuma Landing Restaurant – Great food and historic area too.

Neat place!

Our last stop was KOFA – the Escapee Co-op RV Park.  Our name is on the list to get a lot and we wanted to take a look around and talk to folks.  We were also hoping that they had a daily social hour but alas, only on Wednesdays.

Tuesday morning was my day to get my nails and hair done.  My new year’s resolution is to have a get manicure at least once a month.  Today, I was at Best Nails on Fortuna Road – a nice, clean, and reasonable place.  The young man who did my nails told me he felt creative today so on one finger of each hand, he painted a flower – how funny!

Wednesday was just a hang out day and on Thursday we spent the morning at the Arizona Marketplace:

Where we purchased items we needed and some we didn’t – LOL!

And that is what we have been doing.  Up until today, Thursday, I still felt under the weather but today was a good day!

Tomorrow we play tourist so stay tuned and enjoy today.

KUDOS to Dr. Roberto!!! WE had extensive work done by him in 2011 and he saved us a TON of money! Very efficient, clean and polite. We will go back to him if we ever need to, and he is top on our list for referring folks to Mexican Dentistry when they ask us about it.
