The mountain at Tucumcari - a landmark:

And on to US-40.. New Mexico decorates their bridges - Really cool:

Lots of Roadside signs - check out the word “Dead” then look at the doll’s face - Scary:

A good portion of this part of US-40 was originally Route 66.  Many of the businesses still use the roadside signs:

Getting closer to Albuquerque:

We went thru another time zone change - oh my!

We ended our travels today at Enchanted Trails RV Park - west of Albuquerque, New Mexico.  It is a Passport America park and we get a discount for two days.

The last time we stayed here was after the Balloon Fiesta in 2011 - can you believe they still had us on file - Smile.

After we set up, I headed to Wal-Mart and Andy watched football.  After traveling almost 1000 miles in three days, we are going to sit here for a few days.  The weather is beautiful so it is a great place to just hang out.  Smile

Enjoy today.

Miles Traveled: 280 Miles

Routes Traveled:

Texas: Jefferson Street; US-54

New Mexico: US-54; US-40; I-40 Frontage Road

hi, Diane and Andy! We stayed at Enchanted Trails RV Park too, for one night the beginning of the summer! Cool park, love those vintage trailers.

Bob is in ABQ right now at Sandia Casino boondocking, but I flew north to visit kids & grandkids in Seattle this week.

Enjoying reading your travel blog. Will be interested to see where you head off to next!

Tanja Wood (we met at Elk City Lake Park last November).

Hi Tanja and Bob, Yes we do remember you. Just getting caught up and we are on our way west again. (If we stayed longer, we would have knocked on Bob's door - :-). Hopefully we will cross paths again.

I think we drove the same highway in 2010 from Albuquerque to Kansas and beyond. Since Dalhart TX had so many huge feed lots, we thought we could find a cheap steak somewhere in that area. Ended up at a very good BBQ joint.

Hi Ron and Bonnie,

We went this same way a few years ago and thought the same thing - LOL!!!! This time, we cooked our own supper. :-)
Hope to see you both this winter.
