July 13-14, 2013 Bay Furnace Campground

(Side Note - Our refrigerator is still working on gas - YEA!)

On Saturday, 13th, we made our way back to the dock in Munising.  We had booked a trip around Grand Island.  Well, sad to say, the trip was cancelled - boat problems - what a bummer.  So we headed back home for a few hours, then decided to go to lunch at Muldoon's.  They are famous for their pasties.

We were not sure what a pasty was so we asked first then I bought a chicken and Andy got the beef.  Pasties are what I call “meat pies”.   My mom use to make them when I was young.  It is a pie pastry bottom and top, filled with meat, potatoes, and vegetables. Very good!

After a stop at the local grocery store for a few things, we came back and hung out by the campfire for the rest of the day.

On Sunday, we went to the Ecumenical Service in the Park.  It was held outside and this was our view:

WOW!

I even volunteered to do the readings.

Here at the campground is the remnants of an old furnace so after the service, Andy and I took the interpretive trail to the furnace.  Come along with us:

How wonderful!

The rest of the day was spent doing a few things around the motorhome including updating the blogs.  Our neighbors gave us their firewood when they left so we had a grand fire tonight.  The camp host stopped by and it was great to talk with her.

Tomorrow we are heading up the road to Grand Marais for a few days so stay tuned and enjoy today.
