We slept in this morning and just hung out. After lunch we headed to the Pictured Lakes National Seashore. Our first stop was at the Miners Castle area and visitor center.
I found this to be pretty interesting:
Lake Superior was given the name Kitchi Gummi by the First Nation Peoples, meaning “Great Waters”
We took the trail to see Miners Falls. These falls are on the Miners River and drop about 40’. The river then flows into Lake Superior. Beautiful:

This area has so many waterfalls - we could spend a summer just exploring them. 
We made our way to the Miners Castle overlook - oh my - how about the color and clarity of that water. The Miners Castle formation is on the upper part of this cove. It was named by Englishman Alexander Henry’s employees when they were exploring this area for minerals in 1771. Though no minerals were ever found, the name “Miners” remained.:

From there we went to Miners Beach and I just had to put my feet in Lake Superior - :

We headed back home and had a wonderful evening by the fire.

We made reservations for a ranger led boat trip tomorrow to the Pictured Rocks so stay tuned and enjoy today.
