July 10, 2013 Travel to Christmas Michigan

We woke to sun and blue skies - Smile; packed up, dumped our tanks; filled our water tank; and got fuel.  This casino has it all.

We were on our way east on US-2 and into Michigan:

In Wakefield we turned on SR-28, past Sunday Lake where we found this guy:

SR-28 is a beautiful two lane road.  So many trees:

And ferns - I just LOVE wild ferns:

So many lakes and rivers:

We stopped in Christmas, Michigan at Bay Furnace Campground in the Hiawatha National Forest.  We are right by the Lake yet in the trees - beautiful.   We have paid for one night only and are keeping our fingers crossed that the refrigerator keeps working. Fingers crossed

After we set up and checked out the campground, we headed into Munising to the Pictured Rocks National Seashore and Hiawatha National Forest Visitor Center.  We enjoyed the exhibits; got maps and information; and talked with the rangers.   So much to do here!

We stopped at the local American Legion for happy hour and supper.  What a great time.

Stay tuned for our next adventures and enjoy today!

Stats for today:

Miles Traveled:  208 Miles

Route Traveled:
