November 4, 2012 – On the Road Again

On the road again -
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is making music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again
Goin' places that I've never been.
Seein' things that I may never see again
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again -
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends.
Insisting that the world keep turning our way
And our way
is on the road again.
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world keep turning our way
And our way
is on the road again.
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
And I can't wait to get on the road again.

(With all due respect to Willie Nelson – :-))

Yep, we are back on the road againBanana Big Grin.

Our travels today took us south – over the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, PA – I just love these bridges:

11-04-12 A Susquehanna River Harrisburg 007

Past cornfields near Dillsburg, PA:

11-04-12 B Near Gettysburg 002

To Gettysburg, PA where we are staying at the Artillery Ridge Campground for a few days.  Here is our Bella checking out the scenery:

We moved into the motorhome yesterday. Our older cat, Dusty, took a look around and then settled in.  Bella, however, howled for a while and finally settled in – oh my.

After we got set up, we drove to…..

11-04-12 D Gettysburg NMP Visitor Center 003

Where we checked out the tours and ranger programs for the next couple of days.   Since it was later in the day, we decided to wait until tomorrow to do some of the tours.  On our way back to the Tracker, we came upon this Civil War Band and sat for a while and enjoyed the music. (It was also great to sit in the sunshine. – :-).

11-04-12 D Gettysburg NMP Visitor Center 008

11-04-12 D Gettysburg NMP Visitor Center 009

From there we checked out downtown Gettysburg.  We located the visitor center but it was closed, so that will be on our agenda. Our final stop was the local Moose Lodge – what a great time and friendly folks.

Stats for today:

Miles Traveled: 97 miles

Routes Traveled:

Pennsylvania: Chestnut Street; US-209; PA-125; I-80; I-83; US-15; SR-134

PS.  I am a little rusty with doing a blog again so bear with me.  And I know I have left a huge gap since the last time I posted – sorry about that.  Maybe one winter day I will post some of the pictures with some stories – cause there are always life stories – some great, some not so great, and some that just are!
