January 6, 2008 - HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year to all!

Just an update:

We are at home in Pottsville, PA and will be until the spring.

In November, my Andy had angioplasty and a stent put in one of his arteries. The blockage was found during his regular checkup – he had no symptoms at all.

On the same day as his surgery, my mom passed away. She had Alzheimer’s for about 12 years. Even though it hurts, we know she is in a better place and at peace.

And I am back to work part time. I went to visit my former employer and they offered me a job to work on a special project (part time/temporary) for a few months.

We have been enjoying seeing all our friends and family and spending time with them.

We expect to leave again in late March/April. If the funds hold up, we may go to Alaska again. If not, maybe the Great Lakes region… Stay tuned.

And I would like to leave you with an interesting article on New Year’s resolutions thanks to my good friend, Rosann and her mom:

Every New Year, we make a list of resolutions.
They are generally about NOT doing something.
This year, let’s keep things positive.
Rather than NOT doing things, focus our energies on DOING things.
Laugh more;
Surprise friends with phone calls and letters and little gifts;
Do random nice things for people; and
Do occasional nice things for yourself.
That way, every time you keep one of your resolutions,
It will have a positive effect on your life and the lives of those around you.
Good bye, feelings of failure.
Hello, making the world a little bit of a nicer place to be.
May Health and Happiness greet you each day of the New Year!

Wow, sounds like an eventful few months you've had. And I'm glad you are planning more trips this summer. It was so much fun following you guys across teh country last year, almost felt like I was there.

As for us, we had our second child (William Charles) arrive August 28th. And we were lucky to have decent traveling weather to see my in-laws in Pittsburgh and my mother just south of Erie over Christmas. But alas, it's back to work. Yuck.
